Terms of Service — State News Journal
Effective date: 10 October 2026. These terms govern use of statenewsjournal.com ("the Site"), published by 24World Media, 1411 N Sterling Ave, Palatine, IL 60067, United States ("we", "us"). By using the Site you accept these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Site.
1. The service
State News Journal publishes original news reporting, analysis, video pages and related content across World, Politics, Business, Technology, Sports, Entertainment, Health, Science and Video sections. Content is provided for general information. It is not financial, legal, medical or other professional advice.
2. Accuracy and updates
We work to verify reporting before publication and to correct errors openly under our corrections policy. News develops: figures are revised by official sources, officials change statements, and stories are updated. We do not guarantee that any item remains current after publication, and the publication date and any correction or update notes on a story form part of its record.
3. Intellectual property
Text, layout, graphics, logos and other original material on the Site are owned by 24World Media or our licensors and are protected by United States and international copyright law. You may read, share links to, and quote brief excerpts of our reporting with clear attribution to State News Journal and a link to the original story. Systematic copying, scraping, republication or commercial reuse of our content requires prior written permission. Agency, wire and third-party material remains the property of its owners and is used under licence or as credited.
4. User submissions
Messages, tips and documents you send us may be used as the basis for reporting. You must not submit material you do not have the right to share, material that is unlawful, or another person's private personal data. We may edit submissions for length and clarity. Submitting a tip does not create any obligation to publish, any payment, or any confidential relationship unless expressly agreed in writing; confidential-source handling follows our stated practices and the law.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to: interfere with the Site's security or operation; attempt unauthorised access to systems or accounts; use automated tools to scrape content beyond ordinary search indexing; submit malware or spam through our forms; misrepresent your identity or affiliation; or use the Site for unlawful purposes. We may suspend access for violations.
6. Advertising and sponsored content
Advertising and sponsored material are labelled and separated from editorial content under our advertising policy. Advertisers are responsible for the truthfulness and legality of their advertisements. The presence of an advertisement does not constitute our endorsement of a product, service or claim.
7. Third-party links and embeds
Stories may link to, or embed content from, third-party services such as official YouTube channels. Those services operate under their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for third-party content, availability or practices, and linking does not imply endorsement beyond the editorial purpose stated in the story.
8. Comments and interactive features
Where reader interaction features are offered, you are responsible for what you submit. We may moderate, remove or disable content that is unlawful, abusive, spam or otherwise in breach of these terms, and may suspend accounts or access without notice for serious or repeated violations.
9. Disclaimer of warranties
The Site is provided "as is" and "as available". To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement, and we do not warrant uninterrupted or error-free operation.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, 24World Media and State News Journal are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages arising from use of the Site or reliance on its content. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
11. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify 24World Media against claims, damages and reasonable costs arising from your misuse of the Site, your submissions, or your breach of these terms.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes arising from these terms or the Site will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Illinois, and you consent to their jurisdiction.
13. Changes
We may revise these terms; the version published on this page with its effective date is the governing version. Continued use after a revision takes effect constitutes acceptance.

15. Accounts and registration
General reading of the Site does not require registration. Where any feature requires an account, you must provide accurate information, keep credentials confidential, and accept responsibility for activity under your account. We may refuse or remove accounts that breach these terms. You must be at least 13 years old to create an account, and able to form a binding contract or have a parent or guardian's consent.
16. Newsletters and communications
By subscribing to a newsletter you agree to receive it until you unsubscribe. Service messages about your account, a correction you requested, or a legal notice may be sent without an unsubscribe option where the law permits, because they complete a transaction you started.
17. Intellectual property complaints
If you believe material on the Site infringes your copyright, send a notice to [email protected] identifying the work, the infringing material and its location, your contact details, and a statement of good faith belief. Counter-notices may be sent to the same address. We respond to valid notices and may remove or disable access to material as required by law.
18. Availability and changes to the Site
We may change, suspend or discontinue sections, features or the whole Site, and may impose limits on use. We are not liable for unavailability caused by maintenance, providers, attacks or events beyond reasonable control, though we work to restore service quickly and to communicate significant outages.
19. Severability and entire agreement
If any provision of these terms is held unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in force, and the unenforceable provision is read as narrowly as possible. These terms, together with the privacy policy and any booking or licence agreement between us, form the entire agreement about the Site and supersede prior informal understandings.

21. Feedback
If you send us suggestions about the Site, you grant us permission to use them without payment or attribution, though genuine reader ideas that shape the site are often acknowledged in our communications. Feedback does not make you an employee, partner or co-author of anything we publish.
22. Waiver
Failure to enforce any provision of these terms on one occasion is not a waiver of that provision or of any other. All waivers must be in writing to be effective.
23. Assignment
You may not assign your rights under these terms. We may assign ours in connection with a sale or restructuring of the outlet or publisher, provided the assignee is bound by these terms or gives notice of replacement terms. Any attempted assignment in breach of this section is void.
