We read every message sent to State News Journal, and the fastest way to reach the right desk is the form on this page.
For general editorial enquiries, write to [email protected] and mention State News Journal in the subject line so your message is routed correctly. For advertising and partnership enquiries, please use the same address with "Advertising" in the subject line.
What to contact us about
News tips. If you have documents, first-hand knowledge or a story lead about state government, a state agency, a public contract, a school or university decision, or any subject our desks cover, send it in. Tips are treated in confidence, and nothing is published on the basis of a tip alone; our desks verify independently before reporting.
Corrections. If you believe a story contains a factual error, tell us which story, what is wrong and what evidence supports the correction. Requests are assessed under our corrections policy, and confirmed errors are fixed with the change noted on the story itself.
Story updates. Officials, companies and organisations named in our reporting can send updated figures, official statements or documents that materially change a story. We update reporting when verified new information warrants it.
Rights and permissions. For republication, licensing or archive enquiries, contact the publisher, 24World Media, through this page.
Response times
We aim to acknowledge messages within two business days. During major breaking state news, acknowledgement may take longer, but every message is logged and read.
Postal address
State News Journal, 24World Media, 1411 N Sterling Ave, Palatine, IL 60067, United States.
Please do not send unsolicited manuscripts, product samples or payment details through this page.
Confidentiality and source protection
If you share sensitive information, say so in your first message and, where possible, avoid sending identifying details until we agree a safer channel. We protect confidential sources and do not disclose a source's identity to third parties except where required by law. Never send passwords, payment card details or other credentials through this form; State News Journal will never ask for them.
Media and official enquiries
Members of the media, state agencies, courts, universities and companies can reach the publisher through this page for statements, interviews and document delivery. Please identify your organisation and deadline clearly; verified official documents are always reviewed by the relevant desk editor.
Accessibility
If any part of this site is difficult to use with assistive technology, tell us through this page and describe the barrier you encountered. Accessibility reports are logged as service issues and reviewed by the publisher.
Which desk to contact
World and politics: governors, legislatures, state courts, ballot measures, elections administration, and international stories with a state angle. Business and technology: employers, budgets, taxes, energy, infrastructure, state technology and contracts. Sports and entertainment: teams, college athletics, stadiums and arenas, film and entertainment business. Health and science: public health, hospitals, universities, research, weather science and environment. If you are unsure which desk fits, send your message anyway and it will be routed internally; you will not be asked to send it twice.
What happens to documents you send
Documents are logged by the receiving desk, checked for authenticity, and stored on publisher systems with access limited to the desk handling the story. If you send documents in error, or later need to discuss their handling, contact us again referencing your earlier message and date. Original documents of legal significance should be retained by you as well; do not send us your only copy.
Advertising, services and partnerships
Advertising enquiries are handled by the publisher rather than the news desks, which keeps commercial discussions separate from editorial decisions. Use "Advertising" in your subject line and your message will be routed to 24World Media's commercial team without passing through newsroom editors.
Before you write
A quick search of the site may answer simple questions, and our corrections, ethics and privacy pages explain the commitments behind our work. For anything else, write to us; a short, specific message with a story link where relevant reaches the right answer fastest.
